Manufacturing Centre Scan to BIM
Scan to BIM services for a complex manufacturing centre.
Manufacturing Centres, especially operational buildings, are complex structures. 3D scanning technologies help save time on the field and provide detailed and accurate building geometries.
The project was conducted for a major construction and contracting firm based in Australia.
The scope of our project was to capture Point Cloud Data and Google Imagery to a detailed BIM Model for an industrial centre in Australia. The primary purpose of conducting this Scan to BIM project was to survey and create detailed 3D models of the fabric processing and manufacturing plant for future renovations and expansions, as well as equipment planning and placement. Therefore, modelling all significant features of both the interiors and exteriors, along with the parking, treatment plants, and landscaped areas, was critical to the project.
The procedure for point cloud processing, generating digital twin creations and as-built drawings, is critical when precisely documenting the state in which a structure currently stands. In addition to the images of the building and surrounding spaces, the client provided us with Google imagery and the point cloud data. We could easily access and capture the imagery tags from the site with the point cloud data provided. The end product was handed over to the client in the form of a detailed CAD plan as well as a 3D Revit model.
